LRGB-Images with a 450 f/2 Schmidtcamera

The images have been obtained by stacking 2 exposures together with picture window. The first image (Luminence from LRGB) has been a 30m exposure with Technical Pan 6415 and RG610 Red-Filter, the second image (RGB) was a 6m exposure with Fuji NHGII-800 (color negative), pushed to 1600. Images are by Philipp Keller, the image processing has been made by Christian Fuchs.

Some information about the image processing from Christian Fuchs:

A description of this technique has been found on the homepage of Jerry Lodriguess (www.astropix.com). It is a very informative site if you need further information.
- The color-picture was balanced in Photoshop (brightness and colorbalance)
- in Paint Shop Pro 6 the color-picture was seperated into CMYK and the K-channel was saved for further processing
- the program Picture Window was started and the K-channel and the B&W-picture (the Technical Pan picture) loaded
- select the function transformation composite
- use the K-channel as input image (amount 100%)
- use the B&W-picture as overlay image (amount 100%)
- combine the K and B&W-channel with the alignment function multi point
- save resulting image (this is now the new K-channel
- start Paint Shop Pro again and load the color-picture and the new K-channel
- seperate again the color-picture in the CMYK-channels
- use the function "combine channels" and replace the K-channel of the color-picture through the new K-channel that was created in Picture Window. If the channels are displayed as negatives you will have to transform the B&W-picture in a negativ first
- save result
- final image processing (the image will have to be brightened)
