The supernova, here at magnitude 16 mag was discovered on 08.03.2002 from Paulo Cecello
(Brazil) and Yoji Hirose (Japan). The supernova is in the top galaxy (NGC 3190) near
the center. The other galaxies in this Hickson 44 group are NGC 3187 to the left and NGC
3193, the elliptical galaxy near the bright star which already shows some globular
clusters in this image.
It is a very nice field, showing 3 different kind of galaxies. |
